Mary and Ben welcome you to our award winning B&B, in the village of Rowde, 2 miles from Devizes town centre in the historic and beautiful county of Wiltshire. Our rooms have ensuite shower rooms and flat screen TVs with DVD players. Complimentary fair trade beverages, fruit bowl and eco friendly toiletries are supplied, and the luxurious feel of Egyptian cotton sheets.
The king size - Pink Room - can also be supplied with a folding bed to create a family room for three people. The Twin - Blue Room - is on the ground floor and has a large shower with wall seat and grab rail. The double -(Green Room) - is our oldest room which we believe is about three hundred years old.
Our Sauna can take up to 4 people and is situated in its own room complete with rest area, relaxers, shower and toilet so you can relax in style and comfort. We try to anticipate needs and in the winter, you can enjoy log fires in our lovely guest lounge, and in the summer light weight quality quilts and room fans will help you stay cool.
Breakfast comprises of a cold buffet + home made preserves and fruit, you then select off of a menu to create a cooked breakfast of your choice, made freshly to order. One option is "Ben's mess" which is exclusive to Vine Cottage, as taken by the hotel inspector, before giving us Breakfast Awards in 2012 and 2013. There are 2 pubs serving food within a short walk.
In our central location, we are within easy reach of the ancient sites of Stonehenge, Avebury and Silbury hill. Wadworth brewery is in nearby Devizess & the Kennet and Avon canal is just a mile away. The cities of Bath, Bristol and Salisbury and Swindon are all less than an hours drive as is the grandeur and adventure of Longleat House and Safari Park. And dont forget Castle Coombe (filming of War Horse) is also nearby and Lacock (pride and predjudice, Harry Potter, Cranford) is just a five mile drive through our beautiful Wiltshire countryside.
Walkers / cyclists are welcome to stay with us as you explore Wiltshire. The Wessex Ridgeway and Wansdyke Path are just two of the more well known and from the top of Roundway Hill the Vale of Pewsy will open out before you in all its glory. National cycle route 4 runs within a mile of us and we have a drying cupboard for wet clothing and secure storage for cycles in the garage.
